“Fire is used to make gold and silver pure, but a person’s heart is made pure by the Lord.”
PROVERBS 17:3 ERV
When I was a kid, I always dread the time that I would need to go to a dentist to have my teeth fixed. I used to have crooked teeth that I had to visit once a month so that I can have it adjusted. Every month that the dentist had to adjust my retainers or remove my teeth, all I can expect is pain. I hate the injections to make you feel numb or the sore feeling of your gums. I can’t wait for all of it to happen. Looking back, I was grateful that I had to go through all those things that I have a very nice set of teeth. If I didn’t try to endure all those pain I have to go through, I could have been identical to AiAi and not look the way I do now.
Kidding aside, same goes with life. God allows us to go through difficult situations in order to mold our characters the way they’re supposed to be.God intended for me to be in a very devastating season in my life so that I’d learn to trust Him despite what’s going on. After all, he was after my heart and not of what I’ve accomplished. He’s after what my story can be like in order to inspire others and show them how great He is. Without those challenges, my life story would be dull, uninteresting and not so inspiring. Now, whenever I would need to face new situations in life, I see it as an opportunity to thank God that He has another amazing breakthrough ahead… another miracle to exhibit. Just as James would put it in his book, “My brothers and sisters, be very happy when you are tested in different ways. You know that such testing of your faith produces endurance. Endure until your testing is over. Then you will be mature and complete, and you won’t need anything.” James 1:2-4 GW
Knowing that you have Jesus despite all you’re going through is more than Enough. Instead of complaining about our situation, let’s be thankful that God is still on the throne, in control of everything even if you think things have gone out of hand. There may be testings of our faith… but let’s endure it. Let God work through us and see His glory amongst the chaos of this world. Let’s be of good cheer because Christ has won the victory and overcome the world.
As I go through life’s difficulties right now, not knowing where God is leading me…. I choose to trust Him. I choose to patiently wait and endure this season for I believe greater things are ahead of me. It may seem blur and uncertain, but I do believe that I’m one step closer to my breakthrough… that my tomorrow will be so much better than my yesterday.. and that my today will be a history in the making. Learn to trust in Jesus even if we don’t understand. He sees the whole picture. He wouldn’t waste every single pain, tears, and challenges. He will turn all those into an amazing story.
